Can I Volunteer?
Many local hunger organizations provide the first defense against hunger
for many families who need short-term assistance for a number of reasons
— newly or long-term unemployed, employed but with insufficient
wages, single parents, abandoned families, severe debt and anyone on
the edge of survival and good health. Other organizations provide innovative
solutions to improve opportunities for families through job training,
education, and child care. Still others work with the media, government
agencies and other community resources to end the causes of hunger.
Check out the opportunities in your community. Be creative, use your
talents or discover new ones. Try something you've never done before.
